Through over 250 pieces from the Levi Strauss archives, the exhibition tells the story of Levi Strauss, a Jewish immigrant, and the iconic place in the history of American style that was set with the invention of the blue jean.
Frida Kahlo: Appearance Can be Deceiving at the de Young Museum
When: March 21st – July 26th, 2020
Explore the topics of politics, gender, and sexuality through the eyes of artist Frida Kahlo at the de Young Museum. She is most recognized for her pieces that showcase herself where she defies the meaning of what it is to be beautiful. The exhibit will showcase her work, plus artifacts from the Frida Kahlo museum in Mexico City.
The Walt Disney Studios and World War II at the Walt Disney Family Museum
When: May 13th, 2020– January 11th, 2021
The current site of the Walk Disney Family Museum once served as the U.S. Army base from 1846 to 1994. Disney played a significant role during this period by committing a larger portion of their wartime output to make propaganda, entertainment, and print media. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, the exhibition will showcase film clips, artwork, photos, and a variety of other historical pieces.
David Park: A Retrospective at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art
When: April 11th – September 7th, 2020
Take a step back in time, from beginning to end, with works from the Bay Area pioneer of figurative art, David Park. See a hand-picked collection of 125 pieces that will be the first major exhibition of Park’s work in over three decades.
